Biological Effects of Indigenous Entomopathogenic Fungi and Their Application Methods on Spodoptera frugiperda

Spodoptera frugiperda is a new pest in Indonesia that attacks corn and can cause up to 100 percent damageon young plants. As an invasive pest, information on potential indigenous natural enemies cancontrol this needed. This study aims determine the effectiveness of entomopathogenic fungi their application methods mortality, feeding activity, growth, fecundity, fertility S. frugiperda. used factorial Completely Randomized Block Design (RCBD) method consisting 10 treatments. Treatmentstested werecombination species, namely Fusarium sp., Aspergillus oryzae, Entomophthora sp. with conidia density 109 ml-1, distilled water cypermethrin at concentration 1 ml.L-1 as control. Two techniques were direct larvae diet test. Each treatment was repeated three times resulting in30 experimental units. Variables observed included Results showed did not but reduced fecundity Application ondietswas more effective than directly spraying larvae. The best combination suppressed activity oryzae sprayed diet.It also suspected test had developed resistance cypermethrin.
